Entry Recommendations:

Students must have completed Year 12 Design and Visual Communication. Or by invitation from the HOLA.

Course Outline:

This course is your final step toward professional-level architectural design. You鈥檒l create a major spatial design project with a strong conceptual foundation and high-quality visual presentation.

You will:

  • Develop your own, original brief based on user, site, and context
  • Use advanced ideation, sketching, rendering, CAD, Laser cutter and 3D prints.
  • Apply architectural drawing conventions at a high standard
  • Present a resolved and visually rich design solution
  • Build a portfolio suitable for university or polytech entry

Projects may include:

  • Urban design, cultural centres, pavilions, or multi-use public spaces

Scholarship Pathway (for highly motivated students)

If you're a creative thinker with strong visual communication skills, you can submit a DVC Scholarship folio alongside your NCEA work.
